Procrastination anyone?

Sunday 14 October 2012

I believe that I am the queen of procrastination. Like, jokes apart! When I was at school, up to university, I kept on procrastinating, be it for revision for exams and class tests or working on my assignments! When I was at the university, I remember once that I had to turn in an assignment for a law module, and my class was on a Friday afternoon. I so much procrastinated that I got the assignment done on Friday morning, just before class! I am currently enrolled on an MBA course at the university and with work and studies, I am trying with all my might to avoid procrastination! As I was surfing on the net, I came across these funny quotes on procrastination:

“Procrastination is like a credit card, its a lot of fun until you get the bill.”

“I do my work at the same time each day – the last minute.”

“I like work. It fascinates me. I sit and look at it for hours.”

“Hard work has a future payoff. Laziness pays off NOW.”

"The sooner I fall behind, the more time I have to catch up."

"If you want to make an easy job seem mighty hard, just keep putting off doing it."

“Work is the greatest thing in the world. So I always save some of it for tomorrow.”

"The best part about procrastination is that you are never bored, because you have all kinds of things that you should be doing."

But, as the saying goes,

 Never put off till tomorrow
                          what you can do today.

So guys, remember all the hard work required in the end and all the stress procrastination brings us (which sometimes is really not worth it), and let us all together pledge to stop procrastinating :)

La Vie...

There are times in my life when I really think how this world is populated with unique individuals and how our lives are inter-connected. On my way to work, I ponder what is it that will really make your life worth living... Is it simply having a job and earning a decent salary, spending hours at work and yet not being able to give few hours to our families, working and earning money at the expense of our precious health... Well, these are just some questions which we may ponder over. I came across the following guidelines which seemed so interesting to me and I thought of sharing this on my Blog.

  1. Have a firm handshake.
  2. Look people in the eye.
  3. Sing in the shower.
  4. Own a great stereo system.
  5. If in a fight, hit first and hit hard.
  6. Keep secrets.
  7. Never give up on anybody. Miracles happen everyday.
  8. Always accept an outstretched hand.
  9. Be brave. Even if you’re not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.
  10. Whistle.
  11. Avoid sarcastic remarks.
  12. Choose your life’s mate carefully. From this one decision will come 90 per cent of all your happiness or misery.
  13. Make it a habit to do nice things for people who will never find out.
  14. Lend only those books you never care to see again.
  15. Never deprive someone of hope; it might be all that they have.
  16. When playing games with children, let them win.
  17. Give people a second chance, but not a third.
  18. Be romantic.
  19. Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
  20. Loosen up. Relax. Except for rare life-and-death matters, nothing is as important as it first seems.
  21. Don’t allow the phone to interrupt important moments. It’s there for our convenience, not the caller’s.
  22. Be a good loser.
  23. Be a good winner.
  24. Think twice before burdening a friend with a secret.
  25. When someone hugs you, let them be the first to let go.
  26. Be modest. A lot was accomplished before you were born.
  27. Keep it simple.
  28. Beware of the person who has nothing to lose.
  29. Don’t burn bridges. You’ll be surprised how many times you have to cross the same river.
  30. Live your life so that your epitaph could read, No Regrets
  31. Be bold and courageous. When you look back on life, you’ll regret the things you didn’t do more than the ones you did.
  32. Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.
  33. Remember no one makes it alone. Have a grateful heart and be quick to acknowledge those who helped you.
  34. Take charge of your attitude. Don’t let someone else choose it for you.
  35. Visit friends and relatives when they are in hospital; you need only stay a few minutes.
  36. Begin each day with some of your favorite music.
  37. Once in a while, take the scenic route.
  38. Send a lot of Valentine cards. Sign them, ‘Someone who thinks you’re terrific.’
  39. Answer the phone with enthusiasm and energy in your voice.
  40. Keep a note pad and pencil on your bed-side table. Million-dollar ideas sometimes strike at 3 a.m.
  41. Show respect for everyone who works for a living, regardless of how trivial their job.
  42. Send your loved ones flowers. Think of a reason later.
  43. Make someone’s day by paying the toll for the person in the car behind you.
  44. Become someone’s hero.
  45. Marry only for love.
  46. Count your blessings.
  47. Compliment the meal when you’re a guest in someone’s home.
  48. Wave at the children on a school bus.
  49. Remember that 80 per cent of the success in any job is based on your ability to deal with people.
  50. Don’t expect life to be fair.

Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact. William James

Review- Garnier BB Cream (Combination to oily skin)

I have recently purchased the Garnier BB Cream for Combination to oily skin in Medium. I was over-excited when I saw that this product was FINALLY being sold in Mauritius! After viewing so many videos on Youtube about BB creams, I was looking forward to try out this holy grail beauty product!

I have been using it since almost one month already and frankly speaking,  I had not liked it too much at start. It comes in two tones "Light" and "Medium". I got the medium one, and it was a bit on the light side for my complexion.

However, I have been using it under my moisturiser to kind of dilute it and it works AMAZING. Out of 10, I'd definitely give it a 8.5. The coverage is perfect, like, not too cakey and it covers blemishes well also.

The product itself is quite runny; it is very liquid and comes in a long, sleek tube with a pointed nozzle.

One application works well for me. I give Garnier BB cream credits for:

  • Almost perfect coverage. Covers blemishes and redness effectively
  • Stays on your skin throughout the day
  • Easy to remove
  • Matifies the oily areas, such as my forehead and T-zone which tends to be oily, all day long (Two thumbs-up for this one!)
  • Shine free
  • Does not clog pores and is very 'skin-friendly' :)
If you have a light to fair skin tone, then I'd definitely recommend you to using this miracle cream, as it is being marketed!

I shall be posting pictures soonish!

xx
